If you have not been able to maintain a
regular fitness regimen in the past, it might be that you have
pursued a program that you felt you should be doing, rather than
one that you like doing. Your fitness program should reflect
your activities preferences and your schedule. I will work with
you to establish a regular workout schedule and set fitness
goals. This is not a program that you will start and stop. This
is a lifestyle change that you deserve and will want to
maintain.
Similar to Life Coaching, there is over 20
years of research confirming that individuals who receive
regular telephone support with their fitness programs are 300%
more compliant with their programs than individuals who train
one-on-one in the gym. Telephone coaching is ideal for clients
who desire a support system to assist them in developing and
maintaining a fitness lifestyle, but don’t want to be dependent
upon a personal trainer in a gym based program to achieve those
results. Individuals who receive telephone coaching will work
on their fitness goals 5-7 time per week, compared to the 1-2
times per week for those who are coached at a fitness center.
Through the use of monitoring devices to
monitor calories burned and heart rate, you will diary your
daily efforts and fax the results to me weekly. During our 20
minute phone calls, we will review your progress and set the
goals for the following week. Program packages come in 8 week,
16 week, or 24 week blocks depending on your goals and your
current level of fitness. Program blocks can be repeated.
Don’t panic. You may be pleased to
discover you aren’t too far gone. Our level of fitness isn’t
only determined by the amount of exercise we engage in, but how
active a lifestyle we lead. Activities such as gardening or
running after your kids can keep you fitness level at a much
higher level than that of the typical couch potato. You might
find you are a couch broccoli.
